Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SkyKind, operated by ThatUsCitizen, handles information when you use the SkyKind app or website. SkyKind helps you view weather, check destination forecasts, choose a visual scene, and get simple activity ideas for the day. The app does not require an account, show third-party ads, or sell personal information.
Location
If you allow location access, your device provides approximate coordinates so SkyKind can request weather for your area and identify a general city or area name. Location access is optional. If you deny permission, the app remains usable with a default location and manual city search.
Location is sent through a ThatUsCitizen-operated Cloudflare service only to complete weather and general place-name requests. SkyKind does not use location for advertising or to build a user profile. Your most recently used weather place may be saved on your device so the app can restore it later.
Weather and City Services
ThatUsCitizen's Cloudflare service forwards the information needed for a forecast, destination forecast, or city search to Open-Meteo. Trip Check sends the destination search text and the selected destination's approximate coordinates and timezone through this same service. When device location is used, the service may forward approximate coordinates to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to obtain a general city or area name. Short-term caching is used to reduce repeated provider requests. These providers process requests under their own privacy practices. Weather location and visual scene choice remain separate.
Trip Check
Trip Check does not save an itinerary or a list of trips. Destination choices and planning results remain temporary while you use the feature. If you explicitly choose “Use this as my weather location,” that destination becomes the current weather place and may be saved on your device under the same last-place behavior described above. It does not change your selected visual scene.
On-Device Preferences
SkyKind may save your selected scene, temperature unit, last weather place, selected day type, saved activity ideas, dismissed activity ideas, scene access information, and setup preferences in local app or browser storage. These preferences stay on your device unless you clear the app's storage, uninstall the app, clear browser data, or use an available reset control.
Accounts, Advertising, and Analytics
SkyKind does not currently use accounts, login, third-party advertising, advertising identifiers, or analytics SDKs. ThatUsCitizen does not operate a SkyKind user-profile database.
Purchases
SkyKind may display free scenes and previews of premium scene packs. When in-app purchases are enabled, Google Play or another app store processes the transaction and provides SkyKind with purchase and entitlement status. ThatUsCitizen does not receive or store your full payment-card details. The app may save scene entitlement information on your device to keep purchased scenes available.
Data Sharing
ThatUsCitizen does not sell personal information. Information is sent to Open-Meteo or OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service only as needed to provide weather, destination forecast, city search, and general place-name functionality. Purchase information is handled by the applicable app store when purchases are enabled.
Retention and Deletion
SkyKind's saved preferences are kept on your device until you reset them, clear app or browser storage, or uninstall the app. Because SkyKind does not currently require an account or keep a user-profile database, there is generally no account record for ThatUsCitizen to delete. Read the SkyKind data deletion instructions to clear local data or submit a deletion request.
Security
SkyKind uses encrypted HTTPS connections when requesting weather, city, and place-name information. No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children
The app is a general weather and lifestyle planning tool. It is not designed to collect personal information from children.
Changes
This policy may be updated when SkyKind's features or privacy practices change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
